This grave marker, which is at Hackensack Cemetery, located at 289 Hackensack Avenue Hackensack,
New Jersey reveals that Walter S. Bennett served in the U.S. Army during World War I and died on December 11, 1948 at the age of 56. Walter S. Bennett was not on the October 5, 1918 Honor Roll List, which was in the Evening Record newspaper, but this confirms his connection to Hackensack by being buried within its borders since passing and forevermore.
Note that there is a Charles A. Bennett, Charles R. Bennett, Jack Bennett, John W. Bennett Jr., and a Kenneth M. Bennett, who are all on the Honor Roll List, but I have no way of knowing at the present time if they are related to Walter S. Bennett.
